PROOF OF IDENTITY:
Requirements to study in Germany includes photocopies of a valid passport with a validity of least 6 months after date of departure and four recent passport-size photographs with each family member applying for a visa. Visa officer may also check the actual passport.
PROOF OF PREVIOUS EDUCATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
An applicant has to provide the proof of educational qualification starting from the tenth grade.
PROOF OF EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATES:
If an applicant has some previous work experience than a valid proof of work experience has to be provided along with other documents.
PROOF OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
Every German university has its own criteria of admitting international students. Some universities ask for the proof of English proficiency. An applicant need to provide proof of valid score card of test like IELTS OR TOEFL. Some university may also ask for GRE and GMAT score.
PROOF OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT-:
The proof of financial support shows that an applicant has enough money during their stay in Germany. An applicant has to deposit the funds which are approximately 8,700euros in either Deutsche Bank of Germany or Kotak Mahindra Bank in India. The funds must be deposited in the blocked account of either of the two banks. For the proof of financial means an applicant can provide:
- Formal sponsorship letter from sponsor living in Germany.
- Sanctioned loan and documents of the bank
- Bank statement
- Financial guarantee from parents or other relatives with appropriate proof
Before appointment, an applicant has to verify current exchange rate of visa fee and obtain demand draft. The visa fee has to be paid through demand draft at the time of the interview. Fee paid in cash will not be accepted and demand draft with incorrect amounts will also get rejected. The visa fee is not refundable if the visa is rejected. Visa fee for adult is 60 Euros and for minors between the age group of 0 to 17years, is 30 Euros.
- Travel Medical Insurance.
- Covering letter explaining the exact purpose and duration of stay.
- Duly signed application form
- A letter from the university confirming the admission
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS TO STUDY IN GERMANY:
In Germany, every university has its own criteria of admitting students. Universities ask for good German language skills and proficiency of German language is certified through TestDaF. Academic requirements for individual programs are:
Germany provides wide range of study programmes in English as well as German language. German Universities also ask for German language skills if you want to take admission in degree course in German medium. German language proficiency is certified by TestDaF or DSH. An applicant is eligible to apply for a bachelor programme if he/she fulfils one of these criteria:
- If an applicant successfully completed his first year of bachelor programme from recognized university.
- If an applicant has cleared the IIT joint entrance examination for courses in technology and natural science.
- If an applicant has passed qualification assessment examination in Germany.
On successfully taking assessment examination, an applicant is eligible to apply for bachelor degree courses.
Each university has its own admission requirements. Most of the universities consider you eligible if you have four-year or three-year bachelor’s degree. Some universities of Germany also require TOEFL/IELTS/GRE/GMAT scores, depending upon your field of study.
